Honey, I’m Home!

Honey, I'm Home - Pumpkin Cottage

Welcome home to the brand new Home on the Grid, Home and Garden blog!  This marks my first official post as part of the HotG team.  How exciting!

One of the things I enjoy most about Second Life if the ability to set up a cozy little home.  I love decorating, and there are so many amazing interior designers in SL that the possibilities for home decor are positively endless.  Where I live in RL we don’t have normal seasons, just various degrees of hot and hotter.  So, I really look forward to making the most of every season in Second Life.

You can’t imagine my delight when Harlow Heslop, owner of the friendly coffee shop, The Pixel Bean, opened her new home design and decor store called “Honey, I’m Home!“. One of her first builds to be released was this adorable little Pumpkin Cottage.  It has all the things I love in one cozy little package. It’s not overly large, but neither is it cramped. Inside it’s all one open space with windows and an arched ceiling. Its quaint. It has charm.  And most of all, it is the perfect little place for autumn and all its earthy warmth. The entire build, complete with shutters, vines, and pumpkin decorations is only 104 prims, and is +mod/+copy.

Below you can see how I use throw rugs, screens, and even pieces of furniture to break up the space into cozy little livable areas.  Most the items featured are from my “go to” stores for high-quality furniture.  You can find a list of items and shops they are from below the pictures.
