H&G Expo 2012: Final Weekend!

It seems I have just finally run short of time to show you all the amazing things available at this year’s Home & Garden Expo. The Expo will stay open thru most of the day on Monday… so definitely try to make some time to just go walk around the sims, see beautiful things, shop or make future shopping lists — and, of course, look for opportunities to support a terrific cause — RFL.

I haven’t blogged a fraction of the terrific items that I wanted to… but fortunately, even when the Expo shuts down, the amazingly talented designers will still be around! I’m looking forward to spending much more time in the weeks to come looking further at the Home and Garden industry in SL … there is so much to choose from!

terrariumIn these pictures, I’m showing you a little corner of a terrific little prefab that is exclusive to the Expo, and I’m not sure will even be sold afterwards! This is Dolly’s Domicile from D&M Dream Furniture, and is a wonderfully warm and spacious place. I’m sorry I didn’t have time to do it more justice. I love this kind of neutral build that has some of its own personality, but also is a great canvas for your own style in decor and landscaping. The Windsor desk and chair is the RFL Hunt item from Clutter. The vases and terrariums (which I’m totally in love with), are from Circa, and add a great touch to any room. And the very adorable painting was done by Keiba Resident, and I stumbled across it at the UrbanArts exhibit on Dreamseeker Home Expo 1. Art is wonderful way to decorate and personalize your space (and very prim-friendly!). UrbanArts presents a variety of artists, so go check it out and see if there is treasure waiting to come home with you!

desktopI’m signing off from the Expo for now… but you still have more than two days to shop! So what are you waiting for???

I don’t want to neglect any of the GARDEN part of the Home & Garden Expo — there are some wonderful items all over the Expo for landscaping and outdoor living. This adorable little pond is the RFL offering from Luna Bliss — and includes the pond, kitties, and the colorful flowers. The item is soft-linked so you can easily move around the various parts, and even remove some if you need to save a few prims.

Pond: Luna Bliss (RFL item at the Expo)
Trees & Grass(prim): Natural Touch (no longer available)
Skydome: Turnip

H&G Expo 2012: Silent Woods and [DECO]

silentwood-deco1~See enlargements of any picture by clicking thru to my Flickr stream!~

There is no shortage of greenhouses and small summery structures at the Home & Garden Expo this year — and I love every one of them! They make some of the cutest cozy spots, and are a joy to decorate. This little greenhouse from [DECO] is a RFL item, very affordable, and adorable! The lovely furniture set is from new-to-me designer Silent Woods. I’m especially fond of the small touches — the little coffee cup and the orchid (see the closeup below)

Window Shopping and Inspiration at The Home Expo 2012

window-shopping4

I think one of the best things about having 16 sims full of home and garden items is the opportunity to just walk around and soak up the variety of design and style available to us when we imagine and create our environments — whether they are residential, commercial, or community spaces. We may only be able to pick up a few special items at any one time to add to our collections — but many of us are making shopping lists in our heads, and refining the vision of what kind of environment is our style (or at least our style for the moment!)

window-shopping3

You may have heard about the new project from ubiquitous designer, Pitsch Parx (Urbanized) — a new interior design magazine that is designed much like a mood board, with visual representation of trends and styles to inspire us, and hopefully give us some fresh ideas for decorating our own environments. I’ve attended some of the organizational meetings for the publication, and it’s exciting to hear folks talking about their ideas and plans for the magazine. I think you are really going to enjoy it — I can’t wait to see the first issue come out … which is slated for sometime this summer. If this sounds interesting to you — you can go ahead and get your name on the subscription list now, by visiting the Inspiration exhibit at Dreamseeker Home Expo 1.

The pictures I’m sharing in this post are from the amazing display that Neva Crystall put together as a sort of 3D representation of what the magazine is all about. This is pure eye candy, and you should definitely make plans to swing by the exhibit before the Expo closes and just feast your eyes! Neva is a wonderfully talented stylist — and apparently a prolific shopper! These window shopping displays are just stunning. You can find the displays on Dreamseeker Home Expo 1.

Thistle Coastal Cottage

The Home and Garden Expo is amazing this year.  There are 14 sims and I’ve yet to see 1/2 of the wonderful creations available.

I love Thistle.  I have about 8 of Liz Gealach’s houses so it seemed appropriate to start with the new Coastal Cottage which is also a RFL item.  It’s 142 prims and you can change the paint color on the outside of the cottage as well as all the rooms inside.  I was only going to decorate some of the cottage but I got carried away (of course).  Each room focuses on one or two creators.  All SLurls are included in the commentary or at the bottom of the post.

This is the new Charlotte living room set from {what next} and it’s one of my favorite items that Winter Thorn has created.  But then again, I love all her stuff.

I had never heard of %Percent Furniture & Lighting but when I met Plato Novo she was very nice and offered me a blogger pack.  She has lots of cute stuff so be sure to check out her store!

I could go on and on about UrbanizeD but I won’t.  Pitsch Parx’s new Candy Pop collection is amazing.  That is all.

I’ve been wanting to do a whole post on Sway’s but haven’t gotten around to it.  I especially love her textures and color style.  She’s also one of the nicest creators around.
