I think one of the best things about having 16 sims full of home and garden items is the opportunity to just walk around and soak up the variety of design and style available to us when we imagine and create our environments — whether they are residential, commercial, or community spaces. We may only be able to pick up a few special items at any one time to add to our collections — but many of us are making shopping lists in our heads, and refining the vision of what kind of environment is our style (or at least our style for the moment!)

You may have heard about the new project from ubiquitous designer, Pitsch Parx (Urbanized) — a new interior design magazine that is designed much like a mood board, with visual representation of trends and styles to inspire us, and hopefully give us some fresh ideas for decorating our own environments. I’ve attended some of the organizational meetings for the publication, and it’s exciting to hear folks talking about their ideas and plans for the magazine. I think you are really going to enjoy it — I can’t wait to see the first issue come out … which is slated for sometime this summer. The pictures I’m sharing in this post are from the amazing display that Neva Crystall put together as a sort of 3D representation of what the magazine is all about. This is pure eye candy, and you should definitely make plans to swing by the exhibit before the Expo closes and just feast your eyes! Neva is a wonderfully talented stylist — and apparently a prolific shopper! These window shopping displays are just stunning. You can find the displays on Dreamseeker Home Expo 1.

I love Thistle.  I have about 8 of Liz Gealach’s houses so it seemed appropriate to start with the new Coastal Cottage which is also a RFL item.  It’s 142 prims and you can change the paint color on the outside of the cottage as well as all the rooms inside.  I was only going to decorate some of the cottage but I got carried away (of course).  Each room focuses on one or two creators.  All SLurls are included in the commentary or at the bottom of the post.

This is the new Charlotte living room set from {what next} and it’s one of my favorite items that Winter Thorn has created.  But then again, I love all her stuff.

I had never heard of %Percent Furniture & Lighting but when I met Plato Novo she was very nice and offered me a blogger pack.  She has lots of cute stuff so be sure to check out her store!

I could go on and on about UrbanizeD but I won’t.  Pitsch Parx’s new Candy Pop collection is amazing.  That is all.

I’ve been wanting to do a whole post on Sway’s but haven’t gotten around to it.  I especially love her textures and color style.  She’s also one of the nicest creators around.

Interior Addiction has some great items at H&G Expo 2012.

This awesome patchwork tent and a game table, milk bottle with straw and cookie plate is perfect for those who has kids in sl. This set has 45 land impact is just 150 L, 100% donated to RFL

Or this romantic picnic set, with champagne, under a tree that cast gorgeous shadows with 26 land impact is just 100L, 100% donated to RFL.

The Expo will opened at 6am on May 19th and closes at 10pm SLT May 28th. This event have 14 sims dedicated to home and garden, also there is a whole sim dedicated to breedables.

This structure that works wonderfully as a gazebo is a creation of Barnesworth Anubis. this Cabana is called Catalina.

Catalina Cabana has only 25 land impact and 12×12 footprint.

Catalina also have a matching set of furniture that includes 2 chairs, sofa, coffe table, rug, chandelier and 4 potted plants. Total of land impact is 34.

Both items (structure and furniture pack) are mod/transfer. Both are only $150 each. 100% of the sales from these two items at Home Expo 2012 will go directly to RFL.

THE HOME & GARDEN EXPO 2012: NOW OPEN!!!

I love relaxing at home, especially on the weekends, nowhere to be…nothing to do; it’s heaven. Relaxing is even more enjoyable when I get to come home to my cozy
little “Waterfront Hut” from BoatHouse. It’s perfect for my simplistic nature and the view I have from bed is pretty amazing.

Rocky loves laying on the “Grandmother” rug and chewing his bone while I snooze or catch on some reading & plurking. I am not one for lots of furniture, just what I
need, what some would call a “minimalist”; but I prefer to say shabby chic. Most of my home decor comes from BoatHouse by Izziebellah Hinterland, the furniture is rich in detail, low prim and super affordable.

I know you’ve seen it starting on the feeds already — The 5th Annual Home & Garden Expo is almost ready to open its doors. Bloggers have already been crawling all over 16 sims of amazingness — and believe me — you are all in for a treat! This year’s Expo looks to be bigger and better than ever. I’ve only made it through one sim so far, but the grounds themselves are gorgeous, and I’ve already found about a gazillion things I want to take home with me! There is no way I’m going to be able to cover everything, even tho’ I’m planning to live there for the next two weeks! If you have the slightest interest in home, garden, pets, raffles, auctions, hunts, classes, entertainment … be sure to set aside some time to spend at the Expo!

Because there’s so much stuff, and so little time — I’ll probably be taking a lot of pictures at the Expo itself — so please forgive any snapshot-quality photos! I’ll definitely try to sprinkle in some studio pics as well!

This fantastic display above was put together by {what next}, one of the sponsors of the Expo. I love this — rooms in big cardboard boxes! (these are regular sized rooms you can walk into, of course — but you’ll feel a little bit like a petite) Too adorable If you click thru to see the enlarged version, you’ll get a peek at some of the beautiful new furniture being offered … and I know you’ll be seeing more of that thru the next couple of weeks.

Yup — it’s almost here — one of my favorite events of the year! The Expo celebrates its 5th anniversary this year, with a huge extravaganza covering 16 sims, 100+ exhibits, and the first annual RFL Breedables Fair! The Expo benefits Relay for Life of Second Life, and there should be something of interest for everyone — shopping, entertainment, and classes.
