Write for Us!

Thank you for your interest in writing for Home On The Grid. In the interest of full disclosure, this is really the first time I’ve organized a collaborative blog, and some stuff is just gonna be figured out as I go. Please bear with me, and share your feedback! The actual application for bloggers is towards the bottom of this page, but please do read the following before applying.

I’m hoping we don’t have to have a lot of hard and fast rules here… and I’d love for us to be flexible and inclusive. But here are some of my own thoughts for guidelines — to give you an idea of what I’m expecting with this blog. I would err on the side of interpreting these liberally!

  • All posts should focus on how we create, or decorate, or enjoy the virtual spaces we spend time in. With that understanding, I think we can accommodate a diversity of formats and topics… the best creative endeavor is inclusive!
  • Credits should be provided for pretty much all objects visible in the picture, including any prefabs (good faith effort)
  • No vendor ads, although a vendor is welcome to blog a space and use some of their own items
  • You are welcome to direct traffic back to your own blog, so long as there is at least a nice teaser picture. You are also welcome to post a teaser on your own blog, directing traffic to Home on The Grid.
  • Duplicating an entire post on your own blog and on this one is probably not desirable since they are likely to appear on at least some of the same feeds.
  • Our goal is to have high quality writing and photography on every post. But we are also interested in helping newer bloggers get some experience and improve their work. All of us should plan to be receptive to constructive feedback on our blogging.

If all of this sounds reasonable to you, and you’re ready to be part of a fun, new collaboration, get in touch with me inworld or via email at nissa.nightfire@gmail.com! Thanks again for your interest in Home On The Grid~
